YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON – In Cameroon, very few ladies are involved in technology in general and web development in particular. This is a rather controversial fact, considering the presence of many schools like the Polytechnic, where thousands of students, both men and women, are trained every year.
Official statistic show that only 20% of females are actively involved in the field, whereas males amount to 67%. In light of this data, recently visited Njilah Betty Mankfu, one of those rare ladies currently established in this industry. The visit took place in the city of Yaoundé, Cameroon’s political capital, where she described the professional challenges she encounters and provided a direct perspective on the realities of this role.
