Amro Shubair
He holds a Master’s degree in Global Diplomacy from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from York University, Canada. His professional background includes work with the United Nations, UNRCO, UNDP, and the European Union. His roles have involved managing ambassadorial offices, supporting political, commercial, and consular functions, and coordinating multilateral partnerships across the GCC, the Middle East, and broader international contexts. Fluent in both English and Arabic, Amro operates effectively across cultures and political settings. His writing focuses on diplomacy, communication, and global policy and is published by respected platforms including the USC Center on Public Diplomacy. Juha Rekola
From 2006 to 2021, Juha served as Ombudsman for International Affairs, Media Policy, and Professional Ethics at the Union of Journalists in Finland, where he has been a member since 1982. He was President of VIKES – The Finnish Foundation for Media and Development (2007–2019) and continued as a board member for 2024-25. He has also contributed to UNESCO as a member of the Finnish National Commission (2007–2015) and as Finland’s representative to the Intergovernmental Council of the IPDC (2009–2013).
Juha has held senior leadership roles in Nordic and international journalist organizations, including Secretary General of the Nordic Union of Journalists (2009–2011, 2017–2019), member of the International Advisory Board of INSI (2008–2010), and President of the IFJ Congress in Dublin (2013). He has also acted as Editor in Chief of Journalisti-Journalisten and Kumppani, and served in senior posts at KEPA (now FINGO), focusing on communications and global issues.
Earlier in his career, Juha worked as an accredited freelance correspondent in South Asia for YLE and Kansan Uutiset, reporting extensively from India and neighboring countries between 1989 and 1992. He has produced hundreds of articles, radio and TV reports, and documentary films from more than 40 countries, with a strong focus on the Global South.

Antoine Renaux

Cláudio Pimentel
His work covers public finance, taxation, investment policy, and the stability of the financial system, translating complex economic issues into accessible analysis for a broad audience.
Professionally, he has served as an Economic Consultant to the Ministry of Economy and Planning of Angola, contributing to strategic economic analysis, including work linked to the Angola 2050 long-term development strategy. He has also acted as an International Tax Consultant through the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), supporting Angola on VAT reform and electronic invoicing (NFE/IVA), and has collaborated with senior government officials, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
In addition to his consultancy work, Cláudio has lectured in taxation and capital markets, authored technical and academic manuals, and delivered professional training in auditing, compliance, investment analysis, and leadership. He currently works as a Financial Consultant for several companies.
A YALI Fellow recognized by USAID as a Young African Leader in Public Administration, Cláudio has participated in international forums such as the World Bank Group Youth Summit and African economic policy conferences. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
Virginia Jeffries
In 2025, Jeffries was awarded the Shepard Prize for Investigative Reporting. Her story "Gaza's Insulin Crisis" ran in Newsweek, sharing the cover with the magazine's Paris Olympics issue. The story follows three students with diabetes trying to survive war, blockade, and the collapse of Gaza's health care system. Her reporting contradicted Israel's official communications about the incursion.
Her work has also appeared in Foreign Policy, MSN, Miami Herald, Yahoo, The Charlotte Observer, The Sacramento Bee, Lexington Herald-Leader, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and other outlets. She has reported on the 2022 political and economic crisis in Sri Lanka, as well as issues of alcoholism and global health. Before becoming a reporter, she worked in education.
Dorothee Fischer
Her career spans TV and radio journalism, print and digital media, and more than 20 years of institutional communication with organisations including the United Nations, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and numerous EU Delegations worldwide. As Press Officer and Project Manager at the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (based at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg), she developed media outreach strategies, produced educational films, and led campaigns on human rights and democratic participation across Europe and beyond. Later roles took her to Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the overseas territories of France, always with a focus on translating complex policy content into compelling human stories.
In 2019, she co-founded Legado Sharpe & Fischer SL, a multilingual communications agency in Valencia specialising in sustainable development and human rights projects. The agency works with European institutions, international organisations, and NGOs on communications strategies, video production, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
Dorothee is also a certified Mindvalley Business Coach (accredited with the ICF and EMCC) and holds a Certificate in Speaking and Influence. Through her coaching practice and her newsletter Women Who Inspire the World, she supports professionals, entrepreneurs, and organisations in purpose-driven communication, leadership, and impact storytelling.
She is also the co-author of Ecosistema Valencia, a bilingual educational seek-and-find book inspired by the German Wimmelbook tradition, and she regularly delivers trainings, facilitates international conferences, and has served as visiting professor at the College of Europe.
